This paper focuses on effect of technological collaboration partnership on product innovation performance. Especially, the type of the technological collaboration partnership is specified to 9 types of partner as per the certain characteristics of collaborative relationship. And the statistical investigation presents which type of partnership is more positively effective to radical innovation or incremental innovation in terms of new product development process of manufacturing firms in Korea. Nowadays when industrial technology and key information move fast more and more, in order to overcome the limit of internal R&D capacity a number of manufacturing firms strategically cooperate with external company or research organization. However, not all the types of technological collaboration partnership show significant effect on innovative success. The effect of technological collaboration partnership on product innovation is investigated by using Korean Innovation Survey 2018 conducted by the Science and Technology Policy Institute in Korea. The result shows that technological collaboration partnership with affiliate affects product innovation performance positively in both aspect of radical and incremental innovation. And vertical cooperation with supplier tends to contribute to incremental innovation more than radical innovation. Therefore, manufacturing firms in Korea have to put an importance of the appropriate type of technological collaboration partnership with align to their strategic objective for radical or incremental product innovation.
